Old Favorites Now Out Of Business
Unfortunately, it appears many of The Ocean State’s most memorable wooden toy companies have gone out of business. That includes classic Rhode Islander favorites, like:
- Educational Concepts (a.k.a. Old Fashioned Blocks) of Manville, RI
- Mill Street Puzzle Company of Newport, RI
- Seven Acre Toys of Providence, RI
- Bliss Manufacturing Company (a.k.a. Bliss Toys & Dollhouses) of Pawtucket, RI
Another brand, Rhode Island Novelty, is still in business — but they import their products and their corporate headquarters is in Massachusetts, and therefore do not qualify for the list.
