(01) Kaz Woodcraft
Making vintage-looking wooden toys for nearly 20 years, Kaz Woodcraft has built up Kentucky’s most popular wooden toy brand from Lexington, KY.
A “Peep Truck” and “Peep Train” with rainbow peg people piled in — a “Car-Go Train” with individual wooden toy racers each atop a wooden train car — or other variations with dinos and rainbows.
You’ll notice the quality at first sight with various lighter and darker shades of wood. That’s because most toys incorporate various types of hardwood to build a single toy.

(02) East Laurel Woodcrafts
A household name in Kentucky’s artisan community from toy maker Delmar Eby — the brand offers handmade toys made using locally sourced wood.
East Laurel Woodcrafts builds unmistakable quality craftsmanship into each of their finished toys. The cars connecting their toy train form a hardwood rainbow engine to caboose — their animatronic dog toy appears to run like a real dog while rolling on handmade wheels.
Where to purchase East Laurel Woodcrafts? They don’t have an official website — but rather — local retailers keep them in stock with Kentucky pride.

(03) Kentucky Timber Toys
Kentucky Timber Toys is a Louisville, KY wooden toy designer and woodworker — choosing to sell his original toy patterns to other woodworkers.
Complete with instructions for adults to build them at home using basic garage tools — the designs include construction vehicles like a coal miner and forklift — and military-themed toys — on-land models like Abrams tanks and a compact people carrier — airborne models like a Chinook helicopter and Warthog fighter plane.
Intended for beginner to intermediate woodworkers to complete in one weekend with low-cost tools from the hardware store — purchase individual toy designs on the Kentucky Timber Toys website, or head over to Amazon for the published book.

(04) Inside The Box Original
Focuses exclusively on wooden toy guns — not something I’d buy for my kid, but hey — I’m not from Kentucky.
Inside The Box really puts the “pop” back into your wooden toy playtime.
